Personal: Triangle Shoreline Test Composite

It's been a while, so here's an update on how the new (still untitled) project's coming along: This is a test to try to figure out the best way to imitate a beach/shoreline. Palms have new, cartoonier textures, and I slapped some smoothed normals on the dude.
Maya, Photoshop, 3 hrs.
Naturally, the distant background/sky is photoshopped in, but the whole mid- and foreground are a render straight out of maya. Transparency maps are such a life-saver! They're helping so much in maintaining the cartoony nature of our design aesthetic. I'm very excited about this.

Ground (temp) - 100 polys, 1000x1000 diffuse texture
Trees - 64 polys, 256x256 diffuse & transparency
Shells - 16 polys, 128x128 diffuse
Waves - 30 polys, 256x256 diffuse & stransparency

Friggin stoked.
